Nila
Nila, aged 19, was attacked with acid by her husband only a matter of weeks after her marriage took place. Upon having acid thrown straight in her face she was left to suffer locked in the house for up to five hours before anyone responded to her cries of agony.

Durjoy

Durjoy, at just one month 19 days old, was fed acid by his aunt after she feared that she would lose inheritance to the baby. The acid caused such damage that the babies neck fused to his chest, his lips and mouth was severly burnt, and he could only be drip-fed.

Peyara

Peyara was attacked with sulphuric acid after refusing to have an illicit relationship with a man who was tutoring her young son. The incident left Peyara permanently blind in one eye and with extensive burn injuries to her head, face, shoulders, chest and back. At the age of 6 her son, who was near her during the attack, was also severely burnt.

Lucky

Lucky was attacked by acid in open daylight by her husband on her way home from a garment factory where she worked. At age 26, she is a single mother supporting her two children, and her husband of 15 years in marriage has not been seen since the attack.
