Fitness charity Energise has selected ASTI to be the beneficiary of its 4 June Run/Walk in Richmond Park. If you would like to participate, this is an ideal gentle start to the summer exercise season, with different levels available for all participants. Just starting out? Take your family and friends for a 5k walk around beautiful Richmond Park. Getting in shape for summer? The 5k Run is ideal. Already an experienced runner? Try the 10K as a trial run for the British 10K in July. Whatever level you choose, you can feel a sense of accomplishment and know that you are supporting a very worthy cause. Be sure to register in advance.

Proceeds from the event will support the pressure garment unit at ASF-U, ASTI’s partner in Uganda. Pressure garments are a special type of clothing which acid and burns survivors wear so that their skin can heal properly. The pressure garment unit is run by survivors, who are employed to produce the garments. Therefore, the unit provides benefits not just for recent survivors still trying to heal, but also for those who are ready to get back on their feet and learn valuable job skills. You can see a short film about ASF-U and the pressure garment unit at the Energise website here.
