Paul Collingwood, ASTI Ambassador

ASTI is delighted to accept the good wishes of Paul Collingwood, captain of England’s victorious Twenty20 World Cup team. Mr Collingwood, who visited ASTI’s partner ASF-Bangladesh in 2009, will become ASTI’s first Ambassador in January 2011.

Before he left for the Ashes tour of Australia, Mr Collingwood spoke with ASTI’s Chair about how his role could help raise awareness of the both the needs of survivors of acid and burn violence, and the critical work of ASTI’s partner organisations in Asia and Africa. Mr Collingwood said, “I will never forget my visit to meet the acid survivors in Bangladesh when we toured there last year. I will be in touch when I get back to see how I can further support your work.”
