‘The surgery and treatment cost will be borne by JK Plastic Surgery Centre and the South Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare, as part of the ministry’s Medical Korea Project.

A spokesman of the project said the cost and duration of the surgery will only be determined after she is examined by physicians from the centre.

“She will be the first Malaysian to be sponsored by the project for plastic surgery. We expect her to arrive in Seoul on Dec 12,” he said.

Under the project, patients from various countries are treated at South Korea’s leading medical institutions for a wide range of ailments, including heart disease and burns.

JK Plastic Surgery Centre is one of the country’s largest plastic surgery centres.

Hui Linn, a former SMK Convent Datuk Keramat student, had previously undergone surgical procedures and follow-up treatments at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.

She declined to comment on the plastic surgery yesterday.

“I want to focus on my ACCA examination at a private college in Kuala Lumpur which is continuing until Saturday,” she said.

Part of Hui Linn’s face, body and limbs were scarred after her father Lim Teik Swee splashed acid on her mother and her while they were sleeping at their home on Oct 24, 2009.

Her mother Chong Swee Lin, 50, died while Hui Linn was blinded in the right eye. Her other eye has limited vision.

Still she managed to score 9As and 1B in the SPM examination last year.

Her 54-year-old father is being detained at the pleasure of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri after a court ruled that he was of unsound mind during the time of the incident.’
