Katie Piper, 26, has remained fearful and anonymous in the 18 months since she was attacked by highly corrosive industrial acid on March 31st 2008 whilst walking down a busy London street. Now she has opened up and has decided to tell her story. Next week the Channel 4 Cutting Edge documentary will tell the story of Katie Piper.

Two men Stefan Sylvestre, 20, and Daniel Lynch, 33, were sentenced to life imprisonment in May 2009 for plotting and attacking the former TV presenter. Katie had once dated Lynch but after she decided to end the relationship he plotted for Sylvestre to throw the acid in her face. A relationship which lasted no more then a couple of weeks changed Katie’s life forever.

Katie Piper has spoken on ITN News, ITV This Morning programme, as well as the BBC Morning News about the attack and how she never thought a relationship which lasted no more than a couple of weeks could have changed her life forever. You can also view a full interview with Sky News below where Katie speaks about how she now wants to campaign for similar treatment to be given to other burn survivors.

Beautiful Face will be aired on Thursday 29th October, 9 pm GMT, Channel 4.
