2009 Women’s 5k Challenge London

Congratulations to ASTI’s runners for completing the 2009 Women’s 5k Challenge in London Hyde Park!

It was a lovely day made even more enjoyable by the sun shining and with over 16,000 participants running in sponsorship of their chosen charity.

The Women’s 5k Challenge is billed as the best woman-only fun run for ladies of all ages and abilities. ASTI was honoured to have 6 ladies run in support for acid survivors, raising more then £1,100 for the cause!

From everyone at ASTI, we are delighted with your kind donation and would like to thank you all: Raminder Gill, Harsharon Pannu, Amin Orchard, Jas Dhaliwal, Mandeep Gill, and Erika Culenova.

You superstar troopers! Your collective amount of donations means that we can send a Burns-therapy specialist to our partner foundations in the New Year. The Burns specialist team has made an immense, positive impact in the past on the survivors they have treated and with the staff they have supported. These follow-up visits are essential to keep the momentum and progression developing, and the money you have raised will allow to do just that. The specialists not only treat the survivors of this heinous crime against humanity with the physical rehabilitation they desperately require, but they also share best practice, knowledge and skills by having the nurses, physiotherapists, doctors and other staff participate in training sessions to broaden their capacity to rehabilitate and support acid survivors.

Our work is only possible because of thoughtful contributions and support from people like you. In many ways, you have tilted the balance for those that you may never meet, but who will never forget your help.

A big big thank-you… we really can not thank you all enough.

See you next year!
