About us
Strategy
ASTI is the only organisation anywhere dedicated to rehabilitating burns survivors with an integrated approach, while addressing the crime of acid and burns violence in an international context. The demand for our services is growing. To achieve our purpose we have identified three strategic aims where we must focus our attention. They are:
1. Develop and maintain local capacity to rehabilitate burn survivors.
- To ensure that survivors have the best available medical treatment.
- To assist in the psycho-social rehabilitation and education of survivors.
- To offer legal support and advice to survivors and local NGOs.
- To help survivors reintegrate into the community – with a focus on disability issues.
2. Increase public awareness of acid and burns violence.
- Researching and distributing reliable information.
- To support campaigns aimed at reducing and eventually eliminating acid attacks.
3. Maintain ASTI and the ASFs as sustainable, healthy organisations.
- Ensure an ongoing commitment to the purpose and working principles.
- Develop an effective and sustainable fund raising capacity.
- Work closely with the ASFs to monitor their health and effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain a network of Partners and Experts.
- Continue to increase awareness of ASTI’s role in the identification, treatment and rehabilitation of acid violence survivors worldwide.
