MSc or PhD student with SPSS data analysis expertise wanted!

Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI) is looking for a MSc or PhD student who has experience using the SPSS data analysis package, to assist us with a research process for the second and final year of ASTI’s UN Trust Fund (UNTF) supported project, “Towards a comprehensive strategy to end burns violence against women in Cambodia, Nepal and Uganda.”

The consultancy will entail preparing data files, codebooks, checking for errors; entering data from Windows Excel spread sheets and databases into SPSS data files; collating data; some data analysis; and graph work.
The consultant will work from her/his own home and will need to have access to an SPSS program.

Competencies: – Proven experience with SPSS data analysis package; social research; statistics – Knowledge of and experience with a range of statistical techniques – Experience preparing data files, codebooks and checking for errors – Experience using electronic databases – Experience interpreting qualitative and quantitative data /outputs (data analysis) – Ability to develop graphs, – Numerical skills, computer skill – Ability to meet deadlines

Duration: This is a part time contractual position from June through September.

Rate: We will pay an hourly rate which is negotiable. The consultant undertakes that he/she will make any necessary arrangements for VAT and that ASTI will not be responsible for this.
